South Philadelphia Maps: Septa Transportation Routes & Retail Maps

Septa's website is overwhelmingly underused. Other than letting riders plan and track their transportation, the website offers extensive maps of the city. The full map of the city can be viewed on this very large Septa pdf map.

Our graphics people are actually working on an extensive map of the South Philly neighborhoods ourselves. This planned map will break down the neighborhoods, shopping centers, and other amenities for locals and visitors.

Septa's map of Philadelphia shows routes connecting South Philly to Center City and the rest of the city.

Center City to Whitman transportation

Septa's bus 47 runs throughout the city, connecting Center City and the Whitman neighborhood. Route 47 runs from 5th and Godfrey all the way to Whitman Plaza at 3rd and Oregon and then back. It runs often and is a reliable way to get around the city.

Septa Route 47 is one of the most extensive and useful buses running throughout the city.

Philadelphia Transit Shelter Project Ignores Whitman

The City of Philadelphia's new Philadelphia Transit Shelter Project is building new transit shelters throughout the city. They are accepting votes for locations throughout the city.

Where is one area they are not considering? Whitman. Not a shocker that Whitman is being ignored again. The street lights are so dim that a few of these transit shelters with lighting would be a great addition.

Today is the last day to vote, so get your votes in at phillytransitshelters.com. There are a few locations on Oregon Ave and in Pennsport neighborhood that could use shelters. Please add your vote as you can vote for up to 10 locations.
